Self-Archiving Policy

Verbum et Lingua actively promotes open access and the free circulation of scientific knowledge. Therefore, authors are permitted and encouraged to share, deposit, and archive all versions of their work with zero embargo periods, under the following conditions:

Permitted Versions:

  • Submitted Version (Preprint):Authors may deposit the initial draft of the manuscript in any public repository, blog, or academic network before and during the peer-review process. Upon publication, authors are requested to update the archived record by including a link to the official DOI.
  • Accepted Version (Postprint):Self-archiving of the final text, reviewed and approved by the Editorial Board prior to final typesetting, is permitted.
  • Published Version (Version of Record):Authors may immediately disseminate the final PDF/HTML file, as typeset by the journal, on their personal websites, institutional repositories (such as the University of Guadalajara repository), subject-based repositories, and academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).

Conditions of Use:

  • In all instances of self-archiving, it is mandatory to include an explicit statement indicating that the work was first published inVerbum et Lingua, specifying the year, volume, issue, and, essentially, an active link to the article's DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
  • Since authors retain full copyright ownership, any subsequent distribution is governed by the journal'sCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0)
