Abstract

This paper examines how theater contributes to teaching French as a foreign language (FLE), with a particular focus on Mexico. We begin with a brief overview of the history of theater as an art form, then explore the link between theater and language education. Next, we incorporate insights from experts in didactics and conclude with reflections based on our experience teaching French to Mexican learners through theater. This reflection is supported by some suggestions on how theater can be used for educational purposes.

Reynaldo Radillo Enríquez, Universidad de Guadalajara

Reynaldo Radillo Enríquez holds a bachelor's degree in the teaching of French as a foreign language and a master's degree in applied linguistics from the University of Guadalajara. He teaches in the Department of Modern Languages at the same university and has published several scientific articles, as well as books and book chapters devoted to prosody, textual linguistics, and the teaching of foreign languages. His research focuses on prosody and its relationship with pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and discourse, as well as on textual linguistics.
